Hello Artisans!!! Today is my 25th birthday!!! Yay! Last year I did 24 random facts about me to celebrate my 24th bday, and you guys loved it soooo much! So, I thought I would go ahead and do another one this year! But just a warning… I probably will not be doing this post on my 26th birthday because I am running out of facts! haha
.) Every year for my birthday my husband I do the same thing: We have a picnic at Ault Park, go to a museum (usually The Cincinnati Museum Center) or 2, spend some time walking around the city and have dinner on the river. We have been doing the same routine for 4 years in a row now, and it is one of my absolute favorite traditions!
.) When I got married I did not want to lose my maiden name (because it is very unique) so I legally made it my second middle name.
.) My favorite food in the world is chicken alfredo pizza! If you haven’t had it, you need to try it!
.) I LOVE music from the 60’s and 70’s! A few of my favorite bands/artists are: The Beatles, The Beach Boys, CCR, Jim Croce, ELO, Elton John and Billy Joel.
.) I have been sky diving!
.) Although I show a lot of baking on my blog, I am actually not a huge fan of sweets! I will choose a bag of chips over a piece of cake any day! Savory over sweet for sure!
.) When I was younger, I used to tell myself “when I grow up I want to be the modern-day Martha Stewart” (not that you are out of date, Martha). I have just always loved entertaining, baking and DIYing! Hence me starting this blog!
.) My husband and I had Olive Garden cater our wedding! Those breadsticks are what true love is all about!
.) My enneagram type is a 2 (The Helper). Which is soooo fitting for me! I have taken the test about 5 times and always get this. Secondary types I have received are a 7 (The Enthusiast) and a 4 (The Individualist).
.) My dream vacation would be to take a road trip between Italy and Greece! Hopefully those will be my next International destinations!
.) I HATE politics. You will NEVER see me talking about politics. Everyone grows up in different homes and different areas with different point of views. People have a reason for believing what they do, and I am not interested in forcing someone to view things the way I do.
.) I have 4 tattoos: 1 on the inside of my left arm that says “Keep me where the light is”. It is a lyric from the song “Gravity” by John Mayer. I got it to remind me to always look for the Brightside of any situation. 1 on the side of my right wrist of a hand holding a paintbrush. This tattoo is the one I have wanted the longest, but is one of my most recent ones! I got it because I love to paint. I have one on my side of a CooCoo clock. My sister, Kristin and I got clock tattoos as “sister tattoos”. The time on my clock is her birthday, and the time on her clock is my birthday. Her tattoo is a melting clock inspired by Salvador Dali and it is on her ankle. And my last tattoo is a “World’s Best Boss” mug on my left ankle. I got it because of my love for The Office! What’s different about it is instead of it filled will coffee, it is filled with flowers. I like to use mugs as planters, so I thought this would be a little nod to my personal taste.
.) My first job was as a “Sandwich Artist” at Subway! Haha
.) I LOVE quotes, and read through them religiously as a self-care therapy. But my two favorites are “Be who you are created to be, and you will set the world on fire” and “The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return”. I feel like both just speak to who I am as a person and what I want out of life.
.) I am OBSESSED with baby names! Like I mentioned on my random fact post last year, I already have all my children’s names picked out, and have a list of all of my favorite baby names on my phone. If you talk to me about a baby, if I meet a baby, or if you even mention anything to do with a baby, the first thing I am going to ask is “what’s the name”.
.) I used a Jim Halpert quote in my wedding vows! #TheOfficeFanForLife
.) I consider myself an Introverted Extrovert.
.) I was Homecoming Queen when I was a senior in high school and my best friend was Homecoming King! And my husband was actually Prom King his senior year! (disclaimer: we come from a very small town. So, don’t assume we were ever cool in school haha)
.) I am a morning person. (The annoying, wakes-up-with-a-smile type) And can definitely be a night owl! The middle part of the day is where I struggle! Haha
.) When I was younger, I wanted my wedding to be completely rainbow themed, with each bridesmaid wearing a different color of the rainbow (go figure). But when my husband and I got engaged and started planning, I decided that I wanted our wedding to reflect us as a couple, rather than just my personal interests. I mean it was OUR wedding, not just mine. So, we did kind of an “enchanted forest” theme due to the fact that we LOVE hiking together especially in the woods, and we wanted a little bit of magic since we got engaged in Disneyworld. But don’t worry, I still had my bridesmaids wear a different color each! It was an ombre between moss green and teal.
.) I have all my future children’s nursery themes picked out! Don’t worry, I planned for every single possible outcome! Haha
.) I am a CRAZY planner. (If you didn’t notice by the fact above this one! Haha) I feel most at peace when there is a perfectly laid-out plan, and feel the most uneasy when that plan goes awry. Trying to work on being more carefree, but it just makes me anxious just thinking about it!
.) I was OBSESSED with Rugrats when I was little, and I had a little baby Dill Pickle doll that I carried around with me everywhere! If you look at any of my childhood pictures, it is more likely than not that he is in the picture with me!
.) The biggest thing on mine and my husband’s bucket list is to travel to all the National Parks! It is our favorite thing to do together.
.) My ALL TIME favorite song is “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher” by Jackie Wilson! Whenever it comes on, no matter the time or place, it makes me dance and put a smile on my face! I always joke that it is my theme-song on the soundtrack of my life.
Just wanted to share I love following your adventures! Also even though as everyone knows I love and have always loved everything purple. However when I was a teenager hanging out with my best friends planning our weddings I wanted a rainbow wedding with all of my bridesmaids wearing a different color, of course my actual wedding was purple!.
