You may be thinking “Oreo and banana are an odd duo..” Well, let’s just say that my pregnancy cravings got the best of me, and that’s how these little babies were created!
For those of you that follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my stories a few weeks ago where I asked if Oreo and Banana were a totally weird flavor combo- or if they were a totally genius one? And the verdict is in… You all (at least most of you) thought that an Oreo-Banana hybrid sounded delicious! (As did I) So, I created this Oreo Banana Trifle! And let me just tell you, it was perfect!!! And oh, so satisfying!
I figured I would share this recipe is for all of you that thought it sounded as good as I did! So, let’s get to it!!!
Oreo Banana Trifle
– 1 Pack of Oreos
– 3 Small Packs of Instant Vanilla Pudding
– 1 Container of Whipped Topping
– 8 oz Cream Cheese
– Box of Nilla Wafers
– 3 Ripe Bananas
– 5 Cups Milk
1.) Blend together cream cheese (room temperature), pudding mix packets and milk until fully incorporated. Allow mixture to firm in refrigerator for 10 minutes.
2.) Crush Oreos in blender. (save a few full Oreos for topping décor)
3.) Slice bananas in whichever thickness you prefer. Mine were approximately ½” thick.
4.) Now, is the fun part! Layering all the ingredients together! They will be placed in the following order (from bottom to top):
• Nilla Wafers
• Pudding Mixture
• Sliced Bananas
• Whipped Topping
• Crushed Oreos
5.) Repeat step 4 until container is full or you run out of ingredients.
6.) Top off the trifle with a layer of whipped topping, whole Oreos, Nilla Wafers and/or banana slices. Get creative!
7.) Allow trifle to set in fridge for at least an hour before serving, and Bon Appetit!
I do not actually own a traditional trifle serving dish, but I wasn’t going to let that stop me! And you shouldn’t either! Any ol’ dish will do!
I decided to make this creation for Mother’s Day, which was probably the best idea I had all year! Haha So so yummy! We could not stop eating it all day long!! Definitely bookmarking this recipe in my “homey-feeling” dessert archive.
I had extra ingredients, so I also decided to make these cute little mini individual trifle cups as well! The only alteration I made to my original recipe is that I also blended the Nilla Wafers so they would fit in the cups a little better. Still tastes just as great! These would be perfect to make for parties! Less mess in serving, and more personal!
