DIY Christmas Tree Party Hats

Supplies:
– Cheap Store-bought Party Hats
– Green Construction Paper
– Scissors
– Gold Craft Foam Paper
– Glue Gun
– Tree Décor (crystals, stickers, pom poms, sequins, etc.)

How To:
1.) Take apart your store-bought party hat and lay it flat on a sheet of green paper. Trace the outline of the party hat onto the paper. This will ensure that your paper will be the exact same size as the store-bought party hat. Cut out the hat outline.
2.) Cut thin strips out of another sheet of green paper. These strips will act as the layers on the Christmas tree.
3.) Once the strips are cut out, you can decide the design you would like to make your tree. I did fringe-cut, scallop-cut and straight cut designs for my trees, but you can do whatever you like!
4.) Now that you have all your green pieces cut out for your hat, it’s time to assemble it. First, wrap your outline paper sheet around one of the store-bought party hats. Once the outline sheet of paper is perfectly aligned, glue it on top of the store-bought hat. Allow to dry.
5.) Next you will apply your thin strips to the hat. Apply one strip at a time by working from the base of the hat up to the top. Glue down the strips and cut down excess if need be. Allow glue to dry.
6.) Now it is time to decorate your tree! I used little crystals to decorate mine, but there are so many fun options you can do. You can use little ornaments, sequins, pom poms, little string of lights or tinsel- whatever you like! This is where you get to be extra creative!
7.) Now that your tree is completely decorated, it’s time to top it off with a star! Cut a star out of your sheet of gold craft foam and glue it to the very top of the hat. Viola! You are ready to party!
