Ohana means family, family means no one gets left behind, or forgotten! This Lilo and Stitch sister costume is the perfect way to kick off the Halloween 2023 costume season here at Auburn Artisan!

Aloha from Lilo and Stitch! I don’t know if I will ever get over just how cute they look!

Scarlett is currently OBSESSED with Lilo and Stitch, and asks to watch it on repeat! So when she saw me start making her costume she would not stop begging to wear it! You should have seen her face when she finally put it on and looked at herself in the mirror! Priceless! She would not stop dancing and doing the hula!

This costume was one of the simplest, and cheapest costumes I have ever made! I went to my local craft store and bought an adult size hula skirt for $5 and a plain red bandana (for her top) for $1, that’s it! I cut the hula skirt so that it would be her perfect size and then I made her arm, ankle and head bands with the clippings left over. I just tied the clippings around some elastic hair bands, and voila that’s it!

For Violett’s stitch costume, this is one of those instances that buying is just the better option! I usually prefer to DIY costumes as much as I can, but in her case, for me to have made her the stitch costume I wanted to, it would be almost double the price that I bought this outfit for! I love a good DIY, but it just didn’t make economical sense in this case. I would advise to check thrift shops or secondhand stores for stitch costumes before purchasing brand new though! I saw SO many out!! Unfortunately they all were way too big for Violett, so I had to pass them up, but stitch must be a very popular costume because I saw them everywhere!

I am beyond OBSESSED with how this costume turned out and I know it will be one that I look back on with adoration when the girls are older ❤ I just love Halloween so much, and I am so excited the girls love to join in on the fun too!
