Probably my most CREATIVE costume to date! Ya get it?! I had so much fun making this costume! If you think about it, it really is such a simple design! Basically just a box! I mean it is a juice box after all! haha But I had the best time designing and painting it exactly as I wanted!

I don’t know about you, but I love a good pun! And creating a literal “creative juices” drink is the perfect pun for a costume! The funny thing is, this idea wasn’t originally meant for a costume. I actually had designed a tattoo for myself of a juice box that said “creative juice” on it a while back! I haven’t gotten the tattoo, nor do I have a plan to get that tattoo in the near future, but I designed it to get maybe one day! (I have lots of tattoo ideas) But when thinking up costumes for the year, the thought of that tattoo design popped into my head and I thought, well that would be fun to make as a costume! haha So I did!

JUICE BOX COSTUME

SUPPLIES:

  • CARDBOARD BOX
  • WHITE POSTER BOARD
  • PAINT
  • TAPE
  • HOT GLUE GUN
  • VINYL (optional)

HOW TO:

1.) First you will need a large cardboard box. (If you cannot find a box large enough, you can piece a box together from other boxes. That’s what I had to do!) Cut out a hole for your head at the top and both arms on each side. This is the basic construction of the entire costume, but if you would like to add more detail, you can add a little “folded over” cardboard piece to the sides and top. (see images above)
2.) Next you will start painting the box how ever you desire! I painted a strawberry and lemon on mine because my favorite drink is strawberry lemonade, but you can paint whatever you like! In this step you can determine the name for your drink and it’s theme- it doesn’t have to be Creative Juice! Pick what you like and have fun with it!
3.) This step is optional, but I decided to add a little more details like the nutrition facts and other little “gimmicky” quotes onto the juice box as well. For this, I used my Cricut and some vinyl. You can also paint these by hand if you choose! I just wanted mine to look a little more uniform.
4.) To make the straw, I rolled up white poster board into three separate sections (the middle section is cut into an angle) and attached them all together with hot glue. Once totally assembled, I painted a red stripe down the front and back of the straw to make it look like a traditional bendy straw. After the paint was dry, I glued it to the top of the box!

Isn’t this costume just so much fun!

So, what do you think? Should I go ahead and get a “creative juice” juice box tattoo to match this costume?!

  1. I love, love, LOVE this! I can’t believe it’s not all vinyl and that you painted those perfect fruits and lettering! You are so talented. The “ingredients” are the ultimate touch though; I think I want a sign that says those things in my office/craft space 🙌 You certainly ARE a daily serving of inspiration ☺️
