Happy HalloTHREEn Scarlett!! Our little boo-day ghoul turned 3 at the beginning of August and we had the most spooky time celebrating!

Scarlett is still at an age where she doesn’t quite understand what I mean when I ask what theme she wants for her birthday party, so it was left up to us to decide. I wanted to pick a theme that she would absolutely LOVE, and since Halloween is her favorite thing in the world, I knew it had to be that! This girl is a certified spooky-season queen! Anyone that knows Scarlett knows she is obsessed with ghosts, witches and pumpkins! She greets people by saying “Happy Halloween!” And all she wants to do is play dress up and eat candy all day- this party theme was a no brainer!
Although, I was fully on board the whole time and thought a Happy HalloTHREEn party would be so cute, I also think it will be so fun to look back on this party one day and laugh about the fact that she had a Halloween-themed birthday party at the beginning of August! Birthday parties were/are such a huge deal to me, so I always want my children to have a day they will absolutely love, and I think it will be so special to look back at their parties one day and it be a little time capsule of what they were into at that particular age! No matter how silly!

Not only did we want a Halloween themed party, we also wanted to dress up as if it were actually Halloween! As you should know by now, I LOVE making Halloween costumes (one of my favorite things to do each year!) but I typically make something more “out of the box”. For this party I wanted all of us to be quintessential “Halloween things”, so I kept it pretty simple! Scar has been begging to dress up as a witch, so of course we had to make that happen! And she kept insisting her sister needed to dress up like a pumpkin, so we made that happen too! Both of their costumes were store bought, but Ian and I decided to make our own costumes! He was a ghost and I was a spider web lady! haha

To say I was obsessed with the decor of this party would be an understatement! The colors, the patterns, the theme- I loved it all! I am a huge fan of pastel Halloween decorations (I’m more of a cutesy Halloween girl than a spooky/gory one) so that’s where most of my inspiration came from! I loved the pastel pinks, purples and oranges juxtaposed to the bold black and white stripes! So good!

I worked with my favorite balloon shop CherCanDoIt again this year for our balloons and let me tell you, she never disappoints! I was obsessed with the colors in this garland!

I found some of THE CUTEST accessories for this party! Like this witchcraft book plate and these “let’s go ghouls” napkins! I ended up buying a ton of reusable materials as well, like those little ghost serving bowls and this adorable ghost tablecloth! We actually host a Halloween costume party at our house every year, so a perk of purchasing all the re-usable decor and party supplies is I can use it again for those parties!

The dessert table was SO much fun! We had cupcakes, cookies and even cotton candy “spider webs” on a stick! I put together the cotton candy spider webs on my own using store bought cotton candy, shish kabob skewers and little spider rings! Although, they turned out adorable, I would never make them again… at least not in the heat of summer like this party was! Because of the heat and humidity the cotton candy shrank up and turned into this weird sticky, hard-candy stuff! lol I guess I should have predicted that, but you live and you learn! lol They were cute while they lasted!

These cookies were honestly too cute to eat!!! A local baker, MuenchesMunchies made these for us and I am obsessed! She also made the cookies for Scarlett’s first bday too! She does such a great job! They are both beautiful and delicious!

Rather than a birthday cake, we opted for cupcakes this time and I thought it was great! No need to cut and serve, guests could come grab a cupcake at their leisure! Plus, the cupcake liners and toppers were so much fun!

Loved popping out some of my normal Halloween decor to help celebrate, like these ghosts!

I decided to decorate the playhouse and playset for her party this year and I will be doing this from now on! I absolutely loved it! With 3/4 of our family having summer birthdays, we have most of our parties in our backyard, and it was so fun to see the decor up while the kiddos played around the yard!

Even Heubi (our family skeleton) got in on the fun and wore a party hat!

Our little witchy woman had the absolute best time celebrating with her friends and family!! Happy 3rd birthday to my sweet little spooky Scarlo!!

A Halloween themed birthday party is so unique, and definitely something she is going to laugh about (in the best way) when she is older! And be so amazed at all the decor, food and costumes too 😍 I particularly am in love with those napkin, but the balloons and those gorgeous and delicious-looking cookies also instantly caught my eye 🙌 So jealous I didn’t get parties like these growing up!
