I know I say it nearly every month, but I just feel like this girl grew leaps and bounds this past month! I feel like now that she is officially mobile (crawling) the possibilities are endless for her and all she wants to do is push the limits and explore the world around her!
There were a lot of firsts and new experiences in Violett’s 9th month! Like I mentioned, she started crawling, so it has been a wild time trying to keep up with her! She’s crawling around, getting into everything (especially the things she shouldn’t be), pulling herself up on stuff and doing anything in her power to be as independent as she can be! We love that for her! But for us, we’re exhausted! haha
Along with her personal growth, she got to experience some fun new stuff this past month! One of them being, we got to celebrate Mother’s Day together for the first time! (With her being Earthside that is) Mother’s Day is quickly becoming one of my favorite holidays! We have established a tradition where we go downtown (Cincinnati) to the city flea market, shop around while drinking fresh squeezed lemonade (my absolute favorite thing ever) and then we play in the park, walk around the city, get some food and finish the night with a tasty treat somewhere! It is so much fun!! And it was so much more special having my Violett girl with us this year! The final piece to our wonderful family! So lucky to be her mama!
Along with my first Mother’s Day with her, my sister was able to visit from Ireland this past month and that was so much fun! She hadn’t seen Violett since she was about a month old, so she was basically an entirely different baby to her! We did lots of fun activities together around the city and just soaking up precious time with her for the two weeks she was home was so good for our souls!

While there were a lot of fantastic moments this month, there were devastating moments as well. My Father-in-law (the girls’ Pop Pop) passed away unexpectedly this past month. Our hearts are completely broken, and navigating through it has been difficult. The girls saw him at least once a week, so not only has it been an emotional roller coaster for everyone to get through, it also disrupted everyone’s routine and things were (and sometimes still are) a bit rough. I never thought that they would lose their Pop Pop at such a young age. I am devastated that they didn’t get to have more time with him and him watch them grow, but I am thankful for the time that we did get.
You truly never know just how much (or how little) time you have with someone, squeeze your loved ones and make sure they know just how loved they are until it is too late to tell them. ❤
