DIY Pop Star Costumes (Lady Gaga + Chappell Roan)

Baby, I was BORN THIS WAY!!!! Look out world, we got some baby Pop Stars coming through!!

If there is one thing that these girls cannot get enough of is POP MUSIC!!! We have a dance party in our house every single night, and you better believe, Lady Gaga and Chappell Roan songs are the most requested!! Scarlett has loved Lady Gaga for as long as I can remember and Violett has been obsessed with Chappell Roan since the first time she heard Hot-To-Go!

If you can remember, the girls had a (my little) Pink Pony Club themed birthday party this year, and really that’s what got me dreaming up this costume! I thought it would be so fun to showcase their love for their favorite popstars, while at the same time acting as a time capsule of their childhood! I will get to look back at these costumes in the future and remember just how much they loved these artists when they were 5 and 3 years old!

Costumes are so fun to put together especially when they are based off of fashion icons! And who is more stylish or iconic than popstars?! I mean, they literally shape our culture! When Scarlett was 1 I dressed her up as Elton John (which I am just realizing I never made a blog post about?! – maybe I should?!) and I couldn’t be more obsessed! But now that I see these divas in action, I think I have a new favorite popstar costume! But that also gets me thinking… which popstar should we do next?!

I cannot get over how adorable these costumes turned out!! They were so simple to assemble, but really are just the cutest!!! Little Polly Pocket sized popstars!!

LADY GAGA

Scarlett’s Lady Gaga costume was inspired from a few of her looks from when she first popped on the scene in the early 2000s! I was particularly inspired by her Just Dance and Poker Face era! She always had her signature platinum blonde hair and wore a ton of black clothes with studs or rhinestones!

To make her costume, all I had to do was glue the shoulder tassels onto the bodysuit and then just put it all on together! So super simple! Aside from all the items I linked below, I just put her in black leggings and black combat boots to complete the look!

She took the diva role VERY seriously!!

CHAPPELL ROAN

Violett’s Chappell Roan costume is based off of her Pink Pony Club performance look! Cowgirl vibes, with lots of red and pink with sparkle and shimmery details!

This costume was SUPER simple as well! All I had to do was glue on the sequined heart patches to the bodysuit and cowgirl hat, and then layer everything on together! Oh, and of course we had to finish it off with those iconic red curls!
